Independent Social Work Assessments for children and families facing uncertainty with immigration.
Independent Social Work Assessments for children and families facing uncertainty with immigration.

At Social Work Immigration Matters (SWIMS), our mission is to deliver clear, evidence‑based and independent immigration social work assessments for separated children, families and vulnerable adults. We work with charities, legal firms, local authorities and individual clients, providing expert reports that support Article 8, best interests and family life decisions.
Our assessments are grounded in statutory guidance, permanence frameworks and the child’s best‑interests principles required under Section 55. Every report is completed using a trauma‑informed approach that prioritises safety, stability and the lived experience of the child.
Our ISW reports meet the evidential standards expected by the First‑tier Tribunal and comply fully with Practice Direction 35, ensuring clear, reliable and defensible expert evidence within the legal arena.
We provide high‑quality, affordable and independent immigration social work assessments that prioritise relationships, transparency and the best interests of the child. Our social workers have extensive experience working with separated children, families and vulnerable adults, enabling us to respond confidently to complex situations and sensitive circumstances.
All practitioners at SWIMMS adhere to the professional standards set by the British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and are registered with Social Work England. Our work is grounded in ethical practice, trauma‑informed principles and a commitment to delivering clear, reliable and defensible expert evidence for immigration cases.
